Valery Kuzmin, candidate of technical sciences, presented his lecture - "Innovative oil drilling technologies". The topic was chosen at the request of his Syrian colleagues. Before the lecture, Boris Kostishko,  USU  rector , and Tatiana Kirillova, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Social Work , welcomed the staff of the Syrian Private University. 

This is the first lecture in a series of teleconferences between the two universities. Further ones will be devoted to the issues of medicine and pharmacy. During the online meeting, Admon Sallom, the rector of the Syrian Private University, translated everything  himself -   he  professor studied  in Russia and speaks Russian perfectly.

The cooperation between USU and the Arab Republic universities began when USU rector visited   Syria. Last year in November, Boris Kostishko visited enterprises, universities and research centers in Syria as part of the Russian interdepartmental delegation. For the New Year, students and teachers of USU sent gifts to the children of Syria. Two universities have signed a cooperation agreement.
