From playing games to High Technology: USU Summer Intensives courses help students with career guidance and recruit prospective students

Ulyanovsk State University, as a participant of the «Priority 2030» federal program, actively develops new methods of career guidance work and implements strategic projects aimed at supporting talents, creating conditions for self-realization of children and youth, Introduction of young Ulyanovsk to science and technology. One of them is the " USU code-classes - talents for the university" project.

Summer intensive courses organized by the House of Scientific Collaboration of USU for schoolchildren of different ages every year become the  part of the project program. This year, their participants passed career guidance testing, got acquainted with the transfer educational and scientific laboratories "Intelligent Robotic Systems", "Photonics", "Personalized Medicine", "Materials Science". This will allow the students to decide on the future topics of their activities in order to continue development in this direction in the next academic year as part of project teams under the guidance of students and university teachers. 

The intensive courses are designed for children who have attended vocational guidance events at the university. The participants were children from 15 partner schools. Students of code classes are among the listeners. These are specialized programming classes, which, with the support of USU, have been opened in schools in the region, now there are 50 of them. The project receives long-term support from the Ulyanovsk Region Information Technology Development Fund.
