The II Congress of Young Scientists was held in the Sirius Science and Art Park. The forum brought together more than 3 thousand participants from 77 regions of Russia and 40 countries of the world. USU was represented by Elena Semenova, Advisor to the Rector's Office, and Elena Efremova, Associate Professor of the Department of Therapy and Occupational Diseases.

The congress program was devoted to topical issues and the vector of science development for the next decade in Russia. Special attention was paid to technological sovereignty, key technologies and the popularization of science: the creation of nature-like technologies and innovative medicines of the XXI century, the development of biomedicine, immunology and genetics; the development and implementation of unmanned technologies, biotechnologies and neurotechnologies; the development of bioeconomics of Russia; genomic editing of plants; the creation of megasience infrastructure and satellite groupings with new capabilities.

Representatives of the Federation Council, the Russian Academy of Sciences, universities and research institutes discussed the main tasks that need to be solved to create comfortable working conditions for women in science and expand their presence in this field. The track "Science and Technology" will appear in the project "Women: Mentoring School", the participants will communicate and learn from the experience of the best representatives of the world of research throughout the year.

By 2060, Russia intends to achieve carbon neutrality, and therefore it is necessary to develop its own solutions and technologies. Now Russian science is conducting research in the field of climate and is working ahead of the curve in this direction. A whole complex of low-carbon technologies is to be introduced, which will become the largest industry of mankind for the next 70 years. Currently, there are 15 carbon landfills in various ecosystems in Russia.
