On February 11, Ulyanovsk State University celebrates its 35th anniversary. It was on this day in 1988 that the USSR Council of Ministers signed a decree on the opening of the first university in the history of the region in Ulyanovsk - a branch of Lomonosov Moscow State University. On December 17, 1995, the higher educational institution gained independence.

Today, USU is a major scientific, educational, innovative center that has given a start to the life of tens of thousands of graduates, a supporting university in the region, a participant of the  "Priority 2030" federal program. Every student and employee contributes to its success.
