Indian students of USU celebrated the Bengali New Year, a holiday symbolizing the onset of spring. In 2016, UNESCO included the celebration of Holi in the representative list of the intangible cultural heritage of mankind.
By tradition, international students sprinkled each other with dry paints. It is believed that the more paint gets on you, the more happiness and good luck lies ahead. The Ulyanovsk-Delhi teleconference took place in the evening of the same day, where a representative of the "New Era. Education" Indian Educational Institute by Kumar Dharmendra. Dr. Kumar thanked the Directorate of the Ulyanovsk – UNESCO Literary City program for their assistance in the social adaptation of Indian students and noted the fruitfulness of Russian-Indian cooperation. The holiday ended with national dances.
