Dmitry Vladimirovich knows firsthand the problems of higher education – for many years he worked at Cherepovets State University, where he worked his way up from assistant of the Department of Philosophy to rector. He served as Chairman of the Council of Rectors of the Vologda Region. In 2020, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
At USU, Dmitry Afanasyev took part in a meeting on unmanned aircraft systems that brought together representatives of the university community of the region. During the tour of the campus, the guest examined open spaces for students, visited the Center for Youth Innovative Creativity "Incarnation", the simulation center for medical modeling, the Arthouse space and other locations of the university campus.#
