This academic year, a fundamentally new educational format has been launched at USU. "Digital Department" is a joint project of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation, it gives university students the opportunity to get a new opportunistic profession in the field of information technology.

Anatoly Gennadievich Skovikov is the head of the digital Department of USU. He is the Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, honorary worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation. Anatoly Skovikov  is the author of more than 70 scientific and educational publications, including a patent for an invention, monographs, textbooks on the digital economy. Actively participated in the development of information systems, automation of various business processes, was involved as an expert in summing up the results of the "The Best information and analytical tools" contest .

More than USU 700 students academic year will receive new competencies thanks to the professional retraining programs of the IT profile developed by the university together with IT companies and industry experts  in the 2022-2023.
