USU hosted a meeting of the Council of Rectors of Universities of the Ulyanovsk region with the delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Russian Federation. The event was opened by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Ulyanovsk region Vadim Andreev. Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation Dmitry Krutoy noted the importance of cooperation between the two states in the field of science and education: "We must combine the scientific achievements that exist in the Ulyanovsk region with scientific research, specialized institutes, universities, schools of the Republic of Belarus. It's great that we have already found common ground at our meetings with a number of interesting developments related, among others, to Russian corporations, Rosatom, Rusnano, Rostec, Roscosmos. Therefore, we will continue our cooperation."

Boris Kostishko presented the experience of cooperation between Ulyanovsk universities and the Republic of Belarus, spoke about the implementation of federal training programs for industry in cooperation with industrial partners. Each of the rectors gave a brief overview of the university's activities in this area. The event ended with a discussion of issues of bilateral cooperation. One of the steps towards its development will be the participation of rectors of universities of the Ulyanovsk region in the Forum of Regions in Vitebsk.
