119 universities of the Russian Federation across the country became participants in the Marathon of Digital departments organized by Innopolis University. The marathon was held in the districts, students and specialists of the digital department of UlSU presented their developments directly in Innopolis, where the PFD delegations gathered.

The first stage of the marathon was held online – the teams of digital departments presented online content dedicated to their activities and the most successful projects. At the full-time stage in Tatarstan, the heads of digital departments talked about the involvement of business in the work of departments: organizing internships for students, attracting industry experts to the development of educational programs and teaching. The presentation involved the presentation of three participants from each university – the head of the digital department, the teacher-curator of the educational program and the student-author of the project developed at the department. Anatoly Skovikov, head of the USU Digital Department, Alexander Shabalin, head of the additional professional program "Artificial Intelligence Systems", and Maria Ogurechnikova, a student of the Faculty of Medicine, author of the Anatomical Compass project, told about the experience of Ulyanovsk State University. The best teams were determined by online voting of the marathon audience and online broadcast viewers. The delegation of USU entered the top three winners.
