At the end of the year, 4th-year students of the specialty "State and municipal management"  Anastasia Rachmanina, Elza Nikoforova, and Yakov Lapina took part in the All-Russian Olympiad in Statistics. Applications for participation were submitted from 88 higher educational institutions, more than 70 teams fought for the victory.

The competition was held in two stages, it was necessary to answer the tests and prepare a report. The results of the anti-plagiarism check, relevance, practical significance, knowledge of the tools were taken into account. Students applied statistical and mathematical methods, presented calculations and graphs.

According to the overall results of the Olympiad in the group of universities with a basic level, the team of Ulyanovsk State University took 9th place.
