The developments of the flagship university were presented at the exposition of the Ulyanovsk region at the 11th International Exhibition "INNOPROM" in Yekaterinburg. USU specialists demonstrated the radiation and chemical resistant robotic complex URS-2.  The specific feature of this complex is the ability to carry out technological operations in radiation-protective cells at maximum radiation levels up to 107 Gy.  While the operator can stay within an arbitrary distance from the object and control the robot in both manual and supervisory modes.

The other development is an innovative remote control system of a robotic arm. It is based on a human-machine interface implemented in a virtual environment and the original C3 Bridge software that provides full control over KUKA industrial robots.

INOPROM has been held in Yekaterinburg annually since 2010.  One of the key testing grounds of the  Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation is the main industrial, trade, and export platform in Russia. This year, the theme of the exhibition was «Flexible production», and the partner country was Italy.

The exhibition is attended by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pirelli Marco Tronchetti Provera, authorized representative of the Volkswagen Concern for Russia and the CIS Thomas Schaefer, etc.
