The round table «Russia and Syria: from war to peace» was held in Tula within the framework of the «Engineers of the Future» International Youth Industrial Forum. USU rector  Boris Kostishko visited the forum together with  Edmoun Salloum  ,  the rector of the Syrian Private University and Biehas Alwakaf,  the vice-president of the Board of Trustees of the Syrian university, who visited the Ulyanovsk State  University the day before.

The round table was attended by Vladimir Gutenev, First Vice-President of the Russian Engineering Union, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Industry and Trade, Pyotr Kucherenko, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia, Riad Haddad, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Syria to Russia, rectors of universities of the two countries.
