Mordovia State University held a Festival of student sports of the Volga Federal District, the participants were foreign students of five universities, including USU.

Participants competed in three sports disciplines - 3 x 3 basketball, badminton and cricket. Devendra Singh -  USU medical student-  took the first place in men's singles cricket, USU national team took the second team place in this sport.

"Cricket is the most popular game in India, everyone has been playing it since childhood. And we are very grateful to the university for the opportunity to engage in your favorite sport, and compete in it with students from other universities. There was everything for this at the festival – a good field and worthy rivals," said Veshvendra Singh.

Students Sports Festival was held as part of the implementation of the "Sport is the norm of life" federal project. One of the main objectives of the festival is the adaptation of foreign students and the creation of conditions for their sports potential successful realization.
